Max Miedninger the infamous designer of Helvetica, the typeface that changed the world in the 60s 70s and 80s, was born on December 24, 1910 in Zurich Switzerland, the very same town where he would later die in March 8, 1980. Before his creation of Helvetica he was a trained typesetter in Zurich, where he later started working for Globus department stores as a typographer. He was a customer counselor and a typeface sales representative for the Haassche Schriftgieberu in Munchenstein, The year before he created Helvetica he decided to become a freelance graphic artist in his hometown. Miedninger created Helvetica for the Type Foundry Haas, and during this period of time the outside world was drastically changing as it soon later would with the typeface being spread worldwide. Helvetica is indeed the only font that Miedninger created, but its lasting affect and trademark that is associated with his name is worth it.
